Adams Solver's default settings put a housing's vibration 39 dB off the exact answer, and the result looked believable. SI2 and a maximum step fix most of it; an error tolerance sized to the motion fixes the rest.
A reduced flexible body runs whether it is right or not. On our e-drive housing, 242 modes matched the full finite element model's statics exactly and every free-free mode below 15 kHz within 0.71 percent. Then we tested what many, or close, connection points do to the method.
